Darrell J.C. Millsaps

Darrell J.C. Millsaps, 86, of Tuckasegee, NC, was sent to his Heavenly Home on October 7, 2024. 

He was reunited in Heaven with his parents Jesse and Elizabeth Millsaps, siblings Rae Hall, Pearl Wood, Violet Graves, Mary Roberson, Ruby Middleton, Velma Stephens, and Vance Millsaps, and two grandchildren Whitney Grace and Brittany Ann Millsaps. 

Darrell was a native of Jackson County, NC. In 1956, he graduated from Cullowhee High School; the next year Darrell graduated from Atlanta Radio School of Atlanta, GA, the following two years he graduated from Indiana Tech College and completed his academic education in 1970 at Alverson Draughon in Huntsville, AL. For nearly 50 years, Darrell worked for Climate Conditioning of Charlotte, NC. 

He absolutely adored his family and loved spending time together. Some of Darrell’s hobbies included watching nature shows, deep sea and trout fishing, history and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling and craftmanship. 

Darrell was the beloved husband of sixty-one years to Joyce Clayton Millsaps, the loving father to Bryan R. Millsaps and Denise Millsaps, and the proud Papaw to six grandchildren Jeremy Pigg, Austin Millsaps, Andrew Pigg, Madison Lindemuth (Cameron), Lauren Pigg and Trevor Millsaps. He also leaves behind his brother Paul Millsaps and many dear nieces, nephews and in-laws. 

A Celebration of Life for Darrell Millsaps will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services at 2pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, with Pastor Mike Farmer officiating. A visitation will be available one hour pror.
