Darlene Dale Bennett

Darlene Dale McCall Bennett, age 60, of Sylva died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Campus Mission of Asheville, NC. A life long resident of Jackson County, Darlene was born July 13, 1954, the daughter of the late Elberson Bud and the late Irma Lee (Burrell) McCall. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harley McCall. She was employed as a housekeeper, at Harrah's Casino and prior to that, in Sapphire. Darlene loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Sols Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: David Bennett; two daughters, Angie and Roger Luker and Amy and Steve Brown, all of Tuckasegee; one son, Jason Bennett of Sylva; nine grandchildren; two special honorary children, Loretta and Debbie Owen; one sister, Barbara Matthews and two brothers, RC and Early McCall, all of Tuckasegee. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August, 28, 2014 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, with Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Tim Massingale officiating. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Services on Wednesday, August 27 from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Melton Cemetery in Tuckasegee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with final expenses. . .
