Danielle Angel Haney, age 43 of Cullowhee, died Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Mission Hospital after a battle with an autoimmune disorder. She was born June 4, 1977, in Ohio, to Miguel A. Padilla and Pamela LeVeck of Sylva.
Danielle graduated from Western Carolina University and was employed at WCU for 15 years in the Anthropology and Sociology Department. She was instrumental in the promotion of the Jackson County Swim Team as well as holding several positions with the Mountain Swim League program comprised of five western counties. Danielle was also a faithful attendee and parental participant for girls’ volleyball, swimming, and basketball at the elementary and high school levels.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dean A. Haney; daughters, Domanique Erica, Charlee Jazlyn, Emilia Angel of Cullowhee, Brittney Marie Haney of Miami, FL; brother, Eric LeVeck of New Orleans LA; sister/friend, Dara Earnst, brother-in-law, Dale (Rebecca) Haney of Shipshewana, IN; in-laws, Lamar and Linda Haney; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and co-workers for their numerous acts of kindness and generosity during her time of illness.
Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva NC. A Celebration of Danielle’s Life will be held at a later date.
