Daniel "Danny" Jones

Danny Jones 69 of Cullowhee, NC passed away November 20, 2016 at Charles George VA Hospital in Asheville, NC. He is the son of Louis and Shirley “Googe” Jones. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Patricia “Turner” Jones. Danny served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was an avid history buff who enjoyed reading history books. Danny was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. In addition to being survived by his wife and parents he is survived by three sons, Darryl Jones and wife Natasha, Sean Collett and wife Brooke and Brett Collett and wife Rachel; three sisters Elaine Smith, Amy Jones and Bonnie Kallenberg. He is also survived by eight grandchildren which he loved dearly. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Jackson County Library, 310 Keener St. Sylva, NC 28779 or to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801. Appalachian Funeral Services is handling arrangements.
