Conrad Lee Powell

Conrad Lee Powell, age 74, of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva. A native of Jackson County he was the son of the late Walter Bryan and Anna Ethel Franks Powell. He lived in Rosman most of his life and was a member of Rosman Lions Club. He owned his own painting business and retired from Brevard Telephone Company. He was a dedicated member of his Church, in which he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Brevard Antique Car Club and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Charlite Ashe Powell. He is survived by many loving family members. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 28, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Mike Pressley and Rev. David Powell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be W.A. Brown, Harry Powell, and Keith Allison. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Baptist Children's Home of NC, 255 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or any other Church of one's preference. .
