Connie McCready Hooper

Connie McCready Hooper was born and raised on the small island of Tangier, Virginia, known as the “soft-shell crab capital of the world.” She was one of four children born to the late James and Mina (Crockett) McCready. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hooper. 

Connie was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She was a business partner with her husband on their many business ventures, managed their books and taxes, and cared for her in-laws, Elmer and Irene Hooper, as they aged. Connie was the out-of-sight secret that kept everything together and working.

Connie is survived by her two stepsons, Greg (Falls Church, VA) and Brian (Poughkeepsie, NY) Hooper. The family would like to express their appreciation to Stephanie Gibson, who was a friend and caregiver for both Carl and Connie as they aged.
