Chris Shannon

Chris Shannon, age 50, passed away suddenly on May 25, 2018 while hiking in Colorado with his wife and sons.  There are no words that can express how much he will be missed by his family and friends.  We will always remember his love of music and helping his friends and neighbors.  Chris was originally from Seattle, WA but made his way to Sylva and "became a Southerner" after meeting his wife, and lived there for 25 years. He was a true jack of all trades, and when someone needed help with anything from plumbing to carpentry, tool and die, electrical work, or even beekeeping, Chris would always volunteer and find a way to make it work.

He is survived by his wife Susan (Buchanan) and sons Dylan Shannon (of Sylva) and Riley Shannon (of Denver, CO).  He is also survived by his father John Shannon (of Sylva), Mother Dora Haarsager and her husband Larry of Toledo, WA and his brother Derrick Shannon (Judith) of Meridian, ID.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
