Charlotte Cope

Charlotte Cope, age 86, of Sylva died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Morning Star Assisted Living Center. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Charlotte was born April 12, 1929. She is the daughter of the late Mack and the late Dolly (Johnson) Franks. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Claude Cope; and two brothers, Manuel and J.D. Franks. Charlotte was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, she loved cooking, making a garden, and visiting with friends and family. She loved all holidays, and loved spending time at home with her friends and family. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Bryson of Sylva; a son, William Edward and wife Shirley Cope of Franklin; grandchildren, Michael and wife Melissa Cope and Lisa and husband Kenny Melton; great-grandchildren, Kristen Cope, Kaitlyn and Daniel Melton; two sisters, Nellie Dillard and Ellen Higdon, and various nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, July 17 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 3110 Pumpkintown Road, Sylva, NC with Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
