Charles Jimmy "Jim" Beasley, 78, of Sylva, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was the son of the late DeWitt and Edith Bumgarner Beasley. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Mathis Beasley and their son Michael David Beasley. He was also preceded in death by his second wife Joyce P. Beasley.
He is survived by three sisters- Peggy B. Stiles and Annie Dee Jones both of Sylva as well as Nell Keener and her husband Art of Cullowhee. One brother Tommy (Tom) Beasley and his wife Doris of Sylva. One step-daughter Karen Cody of Sylva and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Kenny and Erinda Shuler of Sylva. He is also survived by his loyal and faithful companion Daisey.
Jim retired from Dayco Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working with the North Carolina Baptist Men Disaster Relief. He was a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday July 23 at Buff Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Lloyd Fish and Gerald Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
