Casey Lee “Red” Owen, 38, of Cullowhee passed away April 16, 2020. He is the son of Bobby and Marlene Owen.
Casey worked for Southern Concrete; he loved driving tractor trailers and dump trucks. He loved fishing and being outdoors. Casey was a member of Sunrise House of Worship and also a member of Cullowhee Fire Department. He loved his family and although he never had any children of his own, he enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Pierson and niece, Paige. One of his biggest passions in life was his two dogs Rex and Little Man.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers, Chris Owen and wife Kristina, their children Pierson and Paige, and Ethan Owen both of Cullowee; aunts and uncles, Shelia and Dwayne Owen of Lake Toxaway, Tony and Marie Owen of Brevard, Tommy and Tina Owen of Brevard, Jimmy and Carlene Galloway of Tuckasegee and James and Janet Davis of Balsam. Several cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Arvol and Imojean Owen and Cleo and Gladys Owen.
The family will have a graveside service at Bates Cemetery with Rev. Caleb Kelly, Rev. Jeff Powell and Rev. Travis Owen officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chris Owen, Ethan Owen, Pierson Owen, Dwayne Owen, Dillon Owen, Jason Dillard, Hayes Webb and Dell Pittman.
