Carolyn Parker McCoy, 76, of Sylva, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday February 8, 2014. A native of Clarksville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Lee and Latrelle Merck Parker. She moved to Jackson County in her early childhood. She loved working outdoors in her yard. Carolyn and her husband Padgett owned and operated the 441 Flea Market in Jackson County for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Padgett McCoy, her daughter Kathy Jamison and by 3 brothers Douglas, Kenneth and Howard Parker.
She is survived by 2 Sons- Steven V. Shepherd of Yorktown, VA
James Patrick McCoy and his wife Jill of Sylva
4 Grandchildren- Gavin and Adrienne McCoy, Ben Tucker and Wendy Jamison
2 Great Grandchildren- Lucas and Ashley
2 Sisters- Margaret Johnson of Candler and Glynda Chambers of Hendersonville
2 Brothers- Jerry Parker of Bryson City and Farrell Parker of Cedar Mountain
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday February 11 at East Sylva Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Dean and Reed Benson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Cliff Capps, Charlie Medford, Jacob Jones, Jim Johnson, Chuck and Ty Chambers and Gavin McCoy
