Carolyn Irene Frisbee Beasley, 78, of Sylva, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, after a long illness. She was born in Macon County on January 12, 1943, to the late Bessie Cagle Buchanan and William Glenn Frisbee. She resided in Sylva all her life.
Carolyn was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved to travel, especially to the beach. Carolyn also loved school and in high school played basketball and was a majorette in the band. Later she attended SCC where she excelled being a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Accounting. She had dreams of continuing her education and teaching on the college level. Carolyn was a people person, never meeting a stranger, and enjoyed working in Residential Living at WCU before retiring.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Brandon Beasley; brother, Johnny Maney (Pauline); sister, Mickey M. Freeman (John); nephews, Chris Maney (Sherry), Tripp Maney (Angela), Todd Drum (Brooke); three great nephews, Christopher Maney, Graham Maney and Strider Drum; and three great nieces, Cassidy Maney, Kylie Maney and Chloe Maney. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Frances B. Stump (the late Bill).
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Beasley, and grandparents, Irene and Eston Moody Cagle of Sylva.
A Celebration of Carolyn's Life will take place at 1:00PM Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC.
