Carol "Dave" Frady

Sylva - Carol "Dave" Frady, 79 passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.

A native of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Albert Jr. and Bonnie Biddix Frady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Frady; one sister, Mildred Conner; one son, Jeffery Frady; and one grandson, James Tedeschi. Dave was a United States Army Ranger for 22 years and a professor of Military Science at Western Carolina University. He loved fishing, boats and anything that dealt with water. Most of all, Dave loved his family and was always the life of the party.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Smith Frady; one son John Frady (Dana); two daughters, Sherry Hill and Jennie Hyder; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverend Eddie Stillwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
