Carol Ann Calhoun

Carol Hall Calhoun, 78 of Sylva, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015. A native of Sylva, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hampton and Iris Bryson Hall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, William Hall of Etowah. Her survivors include her sister, Ruth Ashe (Ray) of Sylva, three nieces and one nephew. Carol was a lifetime member of East Fork Baptist Church where she was a choir member. She resided at Morningstar Assisted Living for many years where she enjoyed her friends, gospel singing, Bingo, going out to eat and other activities. Recently she became a resident of Skyland Care Center. A funeral service will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Dennis Burrell officiating. Burial will be at East Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the East Fork Cemetery Fund, c/o Katie Wood, 272 East Fork Church Road, Sylva, NC 28779. Appalachian Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
