Carl Wade DeHart

Carl Wade DeHart, age 65, of Sylva died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Tsali Care Center of Cherokee. Carl was born January 21, 1950 in Swain County, NC. He is the son of the late Wade and the late Alice (Lillard) DeHart. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Elilzabeth DeHart. Carl was employed as a CNA. He loved the outdoors, camping and traveling, especially touring on the Parkway. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Carl is survived by his wife of four and a half years: Teresa (Buchanan) DeHart ; a daughter, Cheryl and husband, David Greathouse, a son, Henry Patrick DeHart; a stepson, Travis Burrell, a grandson, Mitchell Greathouse; stepgrandchildren Kallie and Abbygail Burrell; sisters, Betty DeHart, Jessie Honeycutt; and Shirley Summey; and brothers, Ronnie DeHart and Ray Williamson. The funeral will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 26 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 pm before the service. .
