Cameron Lee Buchanan

Cameron Lee Buchanan, age 91, of Sylva died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Med West Harris of Sylva, NC. Cameron was born August 16, 1921 in Jackson County. He is the son of the late Verlin Buchanan and the late Willie Rickman Buchanan . In addition to his parents, Cameron was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Clark Buchanan, and two brothers, Harry and Thomas D. Buchanan. He worked as a finish carpenter in construction, he enjoyed farm work with his goats, and was a member of the Wesleyanna Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran. He is survived by a son, James Lee and wife, Mary Buchanan and a daughter, Pamela B. and husband Charles Jackson, all of Sylva. Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva on Tuesday, November 6 at 11:00 am with Revs. Tommy Fouts, and Keith Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Savannah Cemetery in Sylva with the Revs. Charles Jackson and Avery Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Doug Buchanan, Tyson Buchanan, Lee Westmoreland, Trent Fouts, and Paul T. Buchanan.
