Blanche Millsaps completed her earthly journey and entered her Heavenly Kingdom on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Wayne Millsaps; daughters, Janet Millsaps, Pam Ensley and Jennifer Abshire; son in law Bill Ensley; grandson Seth Millsaps, wife Zae and great granddaughter Nola and special canine companions Doby and Tinkey.
She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Bertha Totherow of Murphy, NC and had 8 brothers and sisters. Surviving sisters are Geneva Hayth, Helen Farner and Brothers Dempsey and ML Totherow.
Blanche was a resident of the Addie community in Jackson County for 54 years and a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Stiles, Willa Nell Laney, and brothers JD and Talmadge Totherow.
Blanche was known throughout the community for her positive spirit, dedication to her family and a remarkable green thumb. She was a familiar friendly face behind the snack bar at Eastgate Pharmacy and seemed to have never met a stranger in her path. Blanche was an excellent seamstress making a lot of clothing for family and friends and also a very naturally talented hair stylist.
Visitation and Services will be Friday, January 16, 2015 at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva with visitation beginning at 2:00pm and services at 3:00. Reverend Earl Holden will officiate and burial will be in Addie Cemetery.
