Blanche N Bartenfelder

Blanche N. Bartenfelder, age 85, of Cullowhee, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Fidelia Eckerd Center in Highlands, NC. Mrs. Bartenfelder was born November 17, 1925, in Staten Island, NY. She is the daughter of the late Lucy (Bunnell) Newton. She worked in the real estate market for several years. She loved arts and crafts and was a life guard when she was young and also worked as a model. She lived in Cashiers for many years before retiring to Michigan. She is survived by a son, William Bartenfelder of Roscommon, MI, a daughter, Carol Hartley of Cullowhee, NC and a sister, Mary Ann Meill of Conover, SC. Two grandchildren also survive. A service will be held in Michigan at a later date. Appalachian Funeral Services is assisting the family.
