Billy Wayne Chandler

Billy Wayne Chandler, age 78, of Sylva died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Harris Regional Hospital. Mr. Chandler was born July 14, 1937 in Donalsonville, GA. He is the son of the late Addie V. and the late Clara (Hems) Chandler. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Clara Marie Weisz; brothers, Allen, Curtis, A. C., and Tom Chandler; sisters, Rosie North, Fannie Mae Hodges, Louise White, Adaleen Braswell and Lucille Garrett. He served in the Air Force for 25 years and traveled extensively. He loved to travel, bowl, coach little league baseball, fishing and hunting, NASCAR, and loved covered bridges and lighthouses. . He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Sheila A. Beeco Chandler; daughters, Schantel Denise Hartsock, Stacey Louise Sisk; sons, James Wayne and Jeffery Allen Chandler; step children, James Robert, Cory Clayton, Ricky William, and Donny Shane Moore; a brother, James Kermit Chandler; a sister, Vina Rathel, 5 grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm on Monday, August 24 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with Rev. Reed Benson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. .
