Benny Ray Henry

Benny Ray Henry, age 66, of Sylva passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at a local hospital. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of Louise Henry. He was preceded in death by his wife Tina Powell Henry and his father Pearison Henry. Benny worked for Western Builders for 20 years. He loved to follow the University of North Carolina Tarheel basketball team. He enjoyed being outdoors and he was a loving husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather. He was survived by three daughters Deirdre Martin of Sylva, NC, Monica Parton of Sylva, NC and Jessica Webb of Clyde, NC; one sister Barbara Sluder of Sylva, NC; nine grandchildren Kristin Miller, Britt Parton, Jeremy Martin, Heather Parton, Brooke Parton, Blake Henry, Colby Henry, Finley Webb and Landry Webb and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Dustin Henry. A private service will be held at a later date. Appalachian Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
