Baxter Leroy Nicholson

Baxter Leroy Nicholson, age 51, of Sylva, NC died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Med West Harris in Sylva, NC. Baxter was born March 8, 1960 in Sylva, NC. He is the son of the late Charles Lyman Nicholson. He was employed by Western Carolina University as a plumber. He was a member of the Trout Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Cullowhee Fire Department. He loved to hunt and ride horses. Baxter is survived by his wife Angie Coggins Nicholson; a son, Brent Nicholson of Sylva; his mother Ruby Lonis Nicholson of Sylva; two brothers: Charles Nicholson of Sylva and David Nicholson of Cullowhee; two nieces; three great nieces; and three great nephews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Stiles, Rev. Earl Holden, and Rev Mike Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Jackson County Fire Honor Guard conducting honors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
