Allison Grant (Buddy) King
Friend, Father, Brother and Uncle.
Grant King went home to be with The Lord Jesus January 6th 2025. He was loved by his family for the gentle and caring “simple man” he was. He enjoyed mountain life by the river where a sign hung displaying the words “Troutabout” given to him by his Brother-in-law (preceded in death) Chuck Manston, where we feel sure the two of them are now discussing a heavenly buffet.
Grant spent a lifetime sharing his gift of music and poetry. He loved writing music and had several top country songs in the late 60's and early 70's along with restoring cherished old fiddles and bringing them back to life. He was a dearly loved baby brother who talked on the phone with his sisters often. He was blessed to be assisted by a loving neighbor who took him to the doctor towards the end through failing health. Most of all, comfort abounds knowing that Uncle Buddy is with the Lord, as one of his final texts read the following: “Baby girl, me and Jesus are close. You two stop worrying.”
Grant is survived by three children, two sisters and a host of extended family.
