Robin Dawn Mauldin Coggins, age 53, of Tuckasegee passed away Friday, November 7, 2014, with the love of her family by her side. Robin was born April 8, 1961 to William Mauldin, of Greenwood, SC and Ronnie Stiwinter of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Mauldin and her sister, Mary Alice Mauldin.
In addition to her parents, Robin is survived by her husband of 35 years, Allan Coggins, her two daughters; Amanda Dawn Edmonds (David) of Sylva and Mary Alice Bishop (Greg) of Tuckasegee. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Coleman and Ethan Elders, Jeremiah Brooks and Dylan Bishop. Her two brothers; Mark Mauldin of Idaho and Eric Mauldin of Glenville, her half-brother, Johnny Mauldin of SC, three step-sisters of SC, and a special friend of the family, Clay Elders, whom she loved like a son, also survive.
Robin retired from the Jackson County School System and then went to work for the postal service. She loved her animals and enjoyed quilting.
A funeral service will be Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Johnny Norris officiating. Family will receive friends Saturday evening, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow Monday's service at Stewart Cemetery in Cashiers.
